Ich hab grade erst gelesen, dass Moore für die zweite Staffel auch Podcast-Kommentare aufnehmen wird, diese aber auf keiner DVD enthalten sein werden. Das gleiche wird wohl auch für die erste Staffel gelten. Ich bezweifle, dass dann für die Folgen noch neue Audiokommentare extra für die DVD aufgenommen werden, ... außer vielleicht Eick, Rymer oder die Schauspieler machen das...

Trotzdem gehe ich davon aus, dass die US-Box noch etwas mehr Zubehör haben wird, ähnlich wie bei der Mini-Serie, mal abgesehn von den Kommentaren.
Ich wollte ja eigentlich lieber auf die deutsche Box warten. Nachdem die deutsche DVD der Mini-Serie aber (obwohl sie fast zeitgleich mit der US-DVD erschien) so gut wie keine Extras hatte, werd ich mir auch überlegen eventuell die US-Box zu bestellen, sofern sie denn mal erscheint...

SCI-FI Channel Reveals Online Plans for Battlestar Galactica

Craig Engler, the Sci-Fi Channel's General Manager of Interactive Content, spoke to the UK's SFX Magazine (June 2005 Issue) about the channel's future online plans for Battlestar Galactica.

SCI-FI hopes "to continue podcasting behind-the-scene titbits by [Executive Producer Ron Moore] during the production of Season 2", these will be in the form of weekly chats. When the new season starts, expect more podcasts from Ron for every episode. Commentaries will be made available for each episode on the day of broadcast, and will not be located on any future DVD release.

SCI-FI also plans to launch an official Battlestar Galactica Wiki site (an unofficial one already exists). Based on Wikipedia, the online encyclopaedia, fans will be able to add and edit content for the site. Engler hopes that this will "give our fans a chance to share their enthusiasm online. We're giving them an outlet that makes them feel more closely tied to the show...[hopefully], all the Battlestar fans [will] help us build the best Battlestar site in the world."

If all that isn't enough, Engler reveals that SCI-FI are "looking into videoblogging", a filmed diary of BSG's cast and crew.

Es wäre gut möglich das dies schon auf die erste Staffel zutrifft. Es sei den man nimmt neue Audiokommentare auf. z.B. mit Regisseuren oder Schauspielern

Mir ist es aber egal. Audiokommentare sind zwar sehr interessant, aber ich höre sie mir meistens nur einmal an. Dafür sind die Podcasts gut genug, zumal man sie zeitgleich mit der Ausstrahlung erhält

We've just heard from our sources that Universal is going to be announcing the release of Battlestar Galactica: The Complete First Season very soon. This is Ron Moore's new SciFi Channel version, FYI, which is already available on DVD in the U.K. (the series' second season debuts here in the States on The SciFi Channel on 7/15, followed by the U.K. debut in October on Sky One). We'll post all the official details as soon as they're available. Rest assured you won't have long to wait.

Eine Veröffentlich zusammen oder kurz nach dem Start der 2. Staffel wäre gut denkbar

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has joined Fox and Warner Bros in offering Best Buy a title before other retailers. Battlestar Galactica: Season 1 will appear in Best Buy stores on July 26, and sell for $69.99. Best Buy has listed it as "Battlestar Galactica (Uk Version)," which doesn't make sense; it's the entire first season of the series. It also appears that they're charging full SRP, and they'll get away with it since they don't have any competition for 2 months.

We've been told by other retailers that the regular retail release will be on September 20.

We'll try to post more information when it's available, but Best Buy exclusive titles are kept fairly quiet.

Update - Some people have suggested that Best Buy has imported the UK release. That's not the case; these are region 1 DVDs which Best Buy has for an exclusive period of time. It's possible that the "Uk Version" is in reference to a UK cut, UK opening, or something to do with the UK episodes, or it could simply be something Best Buy added to the listing. We'll have to wait and see when it's released, or whenever Best Buy updates their site with more information.

Wie kommt das eigentlich, dass Staffelboxen von Serien wie "Angel", "Buffy" oder auch B5 maximal so um die 40 eus kosten, während man für ST oder BSG 70-90 Eier berappen muss?

Eine deutsche Box ist wegen der Schnitte an einigen Episoden und deren Vermarktung als "Film" etwas problematisch, aber nicht unmöglich (mit Nach-Synchronisation oder Untertitelung)

Es wird also doch eine richtige US-Version mit mehr Extras und Audiokommentaren geben.

sieht ja ganz interessant aus. Würde mir wünschen, dass diese Box dann auch in deutsch veröffentlicht wird. Da gibts ja nen ganzen Haufen Audiokommentare.
Allerdings glaube ich, dass bei den späteren Folgen die Podcasts dabei sind. Ich bezweifle irgendwie, dass Ron Moore da nochmal neue Kommentare aufnimmt.

Die Podcasts sind fast besser als gewöhnliche Audiokommentare. Es nichts über Lärm der Nachbarn, Hundebellen oder Polizeisirenen
Und bei Stargate: Atlantis sind ab und zu andere Leute ins Zimmer gekommen und um zu Fragen was los ist

Ist halt die Frage ob sich es lohnt die DVDs zu importieren, für 4 neue Audiokommentare und ein paar Extras, die man in ähnlicher Form auch im Internet bekommt

So langsam müsste die erste Staffel auf Deutsch zumindest mal angekündigt werde. Ich habe vor ein-zwei Monaten die Miniserie auf DVD gesehen und will endlich weiterschauen!!! *ungeduldigsei*
