und die Sonde ist doch eine Röhre, die zerküftet ist, da gab es doch keine glatten Strukturen...

Annotations
1) The ship appeared in TOS: "Spock's Brain". It was a bad choice to call the propulsion system an "ion drive", since such a technology (which will be available in the real world soon) would not provide FTL capability. There must be something else about it to make a so equipped ship even faster than with conventional warp drive. On the other hand, it was correct in the episode that such an engine would leave a trail of charged particles that could be tracked.
2) The ship must be more than 10,000 years old, considering that the Eymorg wouldn't have the technical knowledge to build it. It must also be a miracle of easy maintenance.
3) I wonder if the modeler who built this vessel was aware of what it looks like (it was in the 1960s after all). Or could it have been an intentional in-joke, the Eymorg being a female-only civilization?
