Hierbei handelt es sich um den Briten Dominic West, bekannt aus Filmen wie "Hannibal Rising", "300" oder der TV-Serie "The Wire". Außerdem neu bzw. entgültig dabei sind Wayne Knight (als Jigsaw's "Waffenmeister" mit Namen Microchip), Doug Hutchison (als Jigsaw's Bruder Looney Bin Jim), Dash Mihok (als Detective Martin Soap, der Chef der New Yorker Punisher Task Force) und Colin Salmon (als Agent Paul Budiansky).

Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander (Green Street Hooligans) has announced three new actors on her official website.
"There are not a lot of directors in the process of making a studio action film who can say that they don't have at least one bad actor somebody made them cast. I can say that. Still. (Knocking on every piece of wood as I speak)," Alexander says, "I have the best cast on the planet. The movie Gods were watching over me."
Joining Ray Stevenson are Dash Mihok as Detective Detective Martin Soap, Colin Salmon as Agent Paul Budiansky and Doug Hutchinson as Loony Bin Jim.
She adds, "As I look at their headshots on the wall in my office, my heart does little summersaults. And... I have the perfect, most talented Jigsaw!!!!!!! Stay tuned. (Don't you hate that)."

The Punisher Enters War Zone

Lionsgate has a new title for Lexi Alexander's Punisher movie starring Ray Stevenson -- Punisher: War Zone. The new film will be set in New York, where Frank Castle (Stevenson) runs up against a mobster.
The project will mark the third screen incarnation for "The Punisher," which originated in a comic book about Castle, a Marine-turned-vigilante who is driven by a desire to avenge the murder of his family after they witness a gangland killing.
The property was turned into a 1989 film that starred Dolph Lundgren and then into a 2004 pic that starred Thomas Jane.

Ray Stevenson! Latino Review is reporting that the star of HBO's "Rome" has landed the title role in the new Lexi Alexander-directed Punisher movie. The comic book character has previously been played by Dolph Lundgren in the 1989 movie and by Thomas Jane more recently in the 2004 film helmed by Jonathan Hensleigh. Stevenson can next be seen in Screen Gems' horror actioner Outpost

Several other movies are scheduled to shoot in Montreal before the end of the year, including the Tom Cruise-produced Death Race 3000 starring Jason Statham; Mr. Nobody with Jared Leto and Sarah Polley; and The Punisher 2.
Superhero Hype! is also hearing that Hooligans helmer Lexi Alexander is the frontrunner to direct the sequel.
